He loves teaching and brings that style to the pulpit each Sunday as he teaches the Word of God.
He and his wife Ann have been married for 43 years. They have six children, all living in the Northern Virginia area, Michael (Jenn), Andrea (Mark), Matthew (Brooke), Adam (Lindsay), Mitchell (Stephanie), and Aaron (Yoselyn). This crowd is enhanced by fourteen beautiful grandchildren.
Pastor Gary loves people and his heart is to help families face the dilemmas that life often brings their way. He counsels in the areas of marriage, parenting, children/teens, as well as other unique area of need. His easy-going spirit puts people at ease and creates a safe place for them to unpack any or all problems they may be facing. His heart is to serve and to help people find their way to God.
Ann has partnered with her husband Gary in ministry for the last 43 years. She graduated with a degree in voice performance and English. For many years, she taught high school English and continues to enjoy using her gifts by teaching women’s Bible studies and speaking at women’s retreats. As the worship leader of SouthPoint Church, she uses her musical gifts and training to direct the SouthPoint choir, lead the Points of Praise Worship Band, as well as lead worship every Sunday morning. Her favorite thing about the SouthPoint Worship Ministry is the sense of family she experiences with the others members of her team and the blessing of seeing God at work in their lives. She is always on the lookout for those who desire to use their musical gifts for the Lord and welcomes the opportunity to add new worshippers to the SouthPoint Worship Ministry. Along with being the wife of Pastor Gary, worship leader, Bible teacher, mother of six and grandmother to fourteen, she is also the church administrative assistant. She, like her husband, has a heart for hurting people and is available for counseling, encouragement and support. In any spare time she can find, Ann enjoys relaxing with her family and reading Christian fiction. Ann’s life verse is Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord, “plans for good and not for harm, to give you a hope and a future.”
