But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. John 20:31
Everybody believes in something. It’s as simple as that and as complicated as that!
Those who choose to live life apart from Christ still believe in something – perhaps their own intellect or science or love. For Christ-followers, while we may acknowledge that we don’t put our trust in any of these things, it may still be hard for us articulate what it is – or who it is –we do know and believe.
God’s Word makes it clear that knowing what and in whom we believe is a matter of life and death. During Jesus’ time on earth, He often asked those around Him, “Who do you believe I am?” The answer to that question revealed much about the individual’s heart and spiritual understanding.
Do you feel confident that you know what you believe and in whom you have put your trust? Is your pursuit of Jesus leading you to know Him in a deeper way? When have you experienced Jesus as the Way, the Truth, the Life? Do you believe He is your Rock, Provider, Strength, Comfort and Best Friend?
Come along with us on our journey to discover what it means to truly “Bee”lieve in Jesus, so that we “may have life in his name.”
