On January 13, 2000, a small group of about 35 people started holding a Thursday night Bible study led by Gary Maines at the Virginia Power building in Fairfax.  We quickly outgrew that space and realized it was time to start meeting on Sunday mornings like a “normal” church.
In March of 2000, we held our first Sunday service as Centreville Community Bible Church (CCBC) at Deer Park Elementary School in Centreville.  Over the next several years, CCBC grew to about 100 core members, but we often felt that the location of Deer Park School, hidden deep within an older neighborhood, hindered our ability to grow and spread the good news of Christ.  Members often jokingly referred to CCBC as “the best kept secret in Centreville.”  So, two years ago a relocation committee was formed with the goal of finding a new location to meet that provided greater opportunity.
The result of that committee is SouthPoint Church.  On April 1, 2012, we held our first service as SouthPoint Chuch at J. Michael Lunsford Middle School in South Riding, Virginia.  Yes, we have moved and made several changes, but we are still, at the core, the same church family that loves God, loves each other, and wishes to reach the lost and hurting for Christ.
Our new motto speaks to our core values:   “Connecting. Teaching.  Serving.”  SouthPoint Church desires to be more than just a Sunday Church, but rather to become a church every day for those who live in and around the South Riding Community.
Come join us any Sunday at 10:00 am as we worship with lively music, video, drama, and a strong Biblical message for our everyday life.  Join others as we seek answers to our problems, victory for our defeats, peace for those things that may trouble us, hope for those who hurt, and encouragement from others who are on the same journey.
